As part of a company-wide global business drive, DS Smith Plastics Cool Logistics, UK manufacturer of temperature-controlled packaging solutions, has appointed a new Managing Director, Stuart McPherson, to head up the business and maximise the company’s new opportunities to support its customer’s fulfillment needs, now it is part of the wider DS Smith network.
Stuart has been with DS Smith for the past 17 years; most recently as CEO of Stepac, a leading developer, manufacturer and supplier of high-quality precision engineered modified atmosphere and humidity fresh produce packaging. Stepac is part of UK-based DS Smith plc and Stuart was responsible for growing the business and strengthening the range of its products and services.
Mark Smith, Chief Executive, DS Smith Plastics, said: “Stuart’s appointment comes at an exciting stage in Cool Logistics’ development. He brings an in-depth knowledge of the DS Smith Plastics multi-material and global operation into the heart of the Cool Logistics business. His knowledge and experience will drive the company to develop its global service offering to its best effect. We are confident Stuart can build on his successes and deliver sustainable growth to further maintain Cool Logistics’ high levels of quality of service and innovation.”
In addition to this, the company has also made a number of further appointments. Paul Terry is the new Sales & Marketing Director. Paul has worked for a number of years in both continental Europe and Asia, and brings with him global account management skills and experience of complex supply chains. He is an engineer by qualification and has an extensive career history, working for the likes of Domtar, SCA Packaging, Coca-Cola and Mobil.
Nick Walsh re-joins the business as Network Sales Manager to co-ordinate the activities of the company’s indirect sales teams through DS Smith Group businesses and global partners. The company has also expanded its Product Design and Customer Project teams with three new technical design members, Kofi Danso, Sean Austerberry and Rick Hill.
