EDMONTON, June 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - Biomira Inc. today announced that Dr. Alex McPherson has stepped down from the Company’s Board.
Biomira’s Corporate Governance Guidelines require non-independent directors to tender their resignation from the Board upon their resignation, removal or retirement as an Officer of the Company. Dr. McPherson stepped down as President and CEO on May 17, 2006 and tendered his resignation to the Corporate Governance Committee Chair shortly thereafter. The Board of Directors has accepted Dr. McPherson’s resignation from the Company’s Board.
