ALLENTOWN, Pa., May 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Cegedim today announced that Cephalon, Inc. , an international biopharmaceutical company, has equipped sales representatives with Pocket PC units running Cegedim's Target Mobile software. Cephalon representatives can now accept sample requests electronically using Target Mobile and transmit those requests wirelessly from the field for next day processing and shipping.

Target Mobile is one component of the Target SFA suite, a leading sales force automation, CRM and sample management solution built specifically for pharmaceutical companies. Target Mobile, which runs on PDAs and phones utilizing the Microsoft Mobile Windows operating system, allows Cephalon sales representatives to view and manage a wide variety of medical practitioner information, record sales calls, track samples and sample requests, and capture medical professional signatures electronically. The product's XML-based communication technology allows rapid synchronization via secure wired or wireless internet connections. Checks within the software ensure that drug sample requests can only be initiated for professionals who meet DEA and state eligibility requirements.
In addition to the Pocket PC version of Target Mobile, Cephalon's sales force utilizes Target Mobile Web on their laptops. Target Mobile Web is a thin-client version of Target Mobile that provides a number of additional data management features, sophisticated reporting capabilities and ad-hoc analytical tools. Internally, Cephalon uses Target BackOffice for system administration, physician validation and reporting, as well as Target Software's data management and integration services.
