Empowered to run sales and marketing at Sciele, Ciaffoni relocates from New Jersey to Atlanta, the third pharmaceutical executive placed by CarterBaldwin at Sciele.
Roswell, GA, August 26, 2008 - CarterBaldwin Executive Search, a leading provider of retained executive search services in Atlanta, today announced that Joe Ciaffoni has accepted the position of Chief Communications Officer for Atlanta-based Sciele Pharma. Ciaffoni comes to Sciele from Schering Plough’s Kenilworth NJ headquarters where he served as National Vice President.
Sciele Pharma, Inc. is a pharmaceutical company specializing in sales, marketing and development of branded prescription products focused on cardiovascular, diabetes, women’s health and pediatrics. The company, which employs 900 in the Atlanta area, licenses and acquires late stage and commercialized products for sale in the United States. Chief among Ciaffoni’s duties will be driving sales and marketing efforts for the company’s large product pipeline.
The search for Sciele was led by CarterBaldwin founding partner Jennifer Poole Sobocinski, who successfully completed the critical search in less than 90 days. Ciaffoni is the third addition to Sciele’s leadership team provided by CarterBaldwin executive search in Atlanta, which also placed the company’s current Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Business Development.
Sobocinski is one of the CarterBaldwin partners who specializes in Board of Director and C-level placements for the medical, bio-tech and pharmaceutical industries. Ciaffoni’s move to Atlanta will be a homecoming of sorts. Before joining Schering Plough in 2004 he was headquartered in Atlanta while serving as Southeast Area Vice President for Sanofi-Synthelabo, Inc. Ciaffoni, who assumed his new duties with Sciele on August 4th, commented that he is “very excited about working with this leadership team. I already feel a part of the organization.”
