Blue Shield Of California Foundation Requests Applications From Community Clinics, Health Centers, Networks, And Consortia

SAN FRANCISCO, May 18 /PRNewswire/ -- The Blue Shield of California Foundation is seeking applications from community healthcare clinics in California for approximately $3.5 million in operating support grants. The program is designed to strengthen the network of clinics that deliver care to California's low-income and uninsured populations.

"With more than six million Californians uninsured and public funding in jeopardy, community clinics need additional support," said Tanir Ami, program officer for the Blue Shield of California Foundation's Center for Health Care Access. "We strongly encourage eligible community clinics, health centers, and clinic networks and consortia to apply for these grants."

All applications must be post-marked by June 11, 2004. Eligibility requirements and further information on the foundation's 2004 Core Support Initiative are available at http://www.blueshieldcafoundation.org/.
