Challenges and Opportunities in Managing the Drug Benefit for High Cost Dual Eligibles, on Wednesday, September 14th from 7:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. During the session, Brehany will share case studies and lessons learned from managing a comprehensive drug benefit for large dual eligible populations in Medicaid managed care plans using AmeriHealth Mercy’s in-house PBM, PerformRx, which manages prescription drug services for more than 1 million lives, including 50,000 dual eligibles.
On Thursday, September 15th, from 9:45 a.m. - 10:45 a.m., Jane Israel, RN, Executive Director, Clinical Initiatives, AmeriHealth Mercy, will present Best Practices: Care for Chronic Illness, Disease, and Disability. This session will highlight AmeriHealth Mercy’s care coordination program, PerforMED, and its proactive approach to managing the needs of high risk, high cost populations. PerforMED’s innovative technique uses a “population management approach,” a combination of predictive modeling and stratification of membership into risk groups, to blend case management, disease management, and behavioral health coordination for those members for whom it will have the greatest impact.
