New Synthetic Biology Applications for Algae and Renewable Chemicals Featured at Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) 2013 Pac Rim Summit

The Biotechnology Industry Organization’s (BIO) 2013 Pacific Rim Summit on Industrial Biotechnology and Bioenergy will feature presentations on recent innovations in using synthetic biology for renewable chemicals and algae biofuels. Current uses of synthetic biology include engineering synthetic rubber to be used for tires, generating “green chemicals” from agricultural waste, and creating energy saving fuels. The Pacific Rim Summit will be co-organized by BIOCOM and held in San Diego, December 8-11, 2013 at the Westin Gaslamp Quarter.
