Former US Senator Pete Domenici Joins the Board of Directors of National Center for Genome Resources

SANTA FE, N.M.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The National Center for Genome Resources (NCGR) announced today that former New Mexico United States Senator Pete V. Domenici (retired) has joined its Board of Directors. In 1992, Senator Domenici initiated a task force to explore the feasibility of creating a national center in New Mexico to focus on an aspect of the Human Genome Project, the national effort to map and sequence the human DNA code. As a result of these efforts by Senator Domenici, NCGR was founded in 1994.
