Caribou Biosciences’ President And CEO Rachel Haurwitz Named To Fortune’s 2016 "40 Under 40" List Of Most Influential Young People In Business

BERKELEY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Caribou Biosciences, Inc., a developer of CRISPR-Cas technologies for genome engineering, announced today that Rachel Haurwitz, Ph.D., President and Chief Executive Officer, has been selected for Fortune magazine’s 2016 “40 Under 40” list, the publication’s annual ranking of the most influential young people in business.

Dr. Haurwitz, No. 23 on this year’s list, is a co-founder of Caribou and has served as President and CEO since its inception. Dr. Haurwitz is also a co-founder of Intellia Therapeutics, where she serves as a member of the board of directors. She is an inventor on several patents and patent applications covering multiple CRISPR-derived technologies, and she has co-authored scientific papers in high impact journals characterizing CRISPR-Cas systems. Rachel earned an A.B. in Biological Sciences from Harvard College, and received a Ph.D. in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of California, Berkeley.
