San Jose, CA – March 6, 2014 – Validated Cloud is a service run by MUSA, a leading provider of compliance and information technology consulting services to companies within the Life Sciences industry. Today, MUSA announced that the San Jose, California Validated Cloud datacenter has been signed off by Quality and the first customer has moved into the facility.

“We’re delighted to now have bicoastal Validated Cloud operations to bring support to the West Coast Life Sciences market,” explained Nicole Moon, Product Manager for MUSA’s Validated Cloud.

“The addition of the new datacenter will bring 21 CFR Part 11 compliant hosting, which is deployed and maintained under a formal Quality System, to the West Coast. This will allow our existing East Coast clientele to failover to California in case service delivery is interrupted at the Boston area location [and vice versa]”

“The addition of our San Jose datacenter allows our clients to choose a region in which to locate their services and also provides a fully managed, integrated and compliant Disaster Recovery service.”

Douglas Lantigua, Principal for MUSA Technology Partners, continued “Interest is continually growing for cloud solutions, and the regulatory challenges of the Life Sciences exclude almost all commercially available clouds. We’re pleased to be the first to bring 21 CFR Part 11 and ISO:13485:2003 compliance-bound West-Coast-based companies a choice for hosting. Validated Cloud provides compliant IaaS, PaaS and SaaS solutions. The SaaS solution leverages our Laboratory IT support team and effectively supports customers in our cloud for a true turn-key compliant IT operation.”

All Validated Cloud datacenters are SSAE 16 audited, 21 CFR Part 11/Annex 11/ISO:13485:2003 compliant, deployed and operated in accordance to a 21 CFR 820 Quality System. The datacenters and Quality system are open for inspection. Clients can choose from a suite of managed services which, depending on the client’s threshold for risk, may include platform, application, system, database, Citrix and compliance support. The deployment in San Jose, California brings the West Coast Life Sciences market a fully qualified option for application hosting and a production environment for validated systems. The new datacenter allows Validated Cloud to offer fully qualified bidirectional disaster recovery, replication and failover between the West and East Coasts.
