Sunnyvale, CA. May 06, 2013. Clinovo's new “CDISC Standards: Theory and Application” class is an 8-week training program starting on June 11th, 2013. The TechTrainings are technical hands-on classes designed to help clinical trial professionals reach the next step in their professional career. The class will be held at Dentons Offices in Palo Alto, and streamed online.

Taught by Sy Truong, President at Meta-Xceed and author of award-winning papers, Clinovo's new “CDISC Standards: Theory and Application” class will give an overview of CDISC standards: ODM, SDTM, ADaM and Define.XML. Students will learn how to transform legacy data into these clinical standards through real-life examples. Case studies will include data exchange, archival, and electronic submission to regulatory agencies such as the FDA.

Understanding CDISC standards is becoming a critical skill to have for SAS programmers, statisticians and clinical data managers. Pharmaceutical companies are requiring from their new hires to understand and apply CDISC standards, to comply with the latest FDA requirements and generate significant time savings during the clinical trial process. This includes the ability to create and use metadata, develop conversion specifications, implement and validate SDTM and ADaM data, determine solutions for legacy data conversions, and prepare data for regulatory submission.

Clinovo will continue to offer the "Base Clinical SAS Programming" class as well as the "Advanced Clinical SAS Programming" class. The "Base Clinical SAS Programming" class prepares entry-level programmers for the Base SAS certification. The "Advanced Clinical SAS Programming" class tackles advanced real-world SAS programming challenges. Life science companies are looking for inter-disciplinary profiles, capable of understanding the clinical data lifecycle from data collection to analysis and FDA submission. With this class, job seekers, entry-level programmers, and Clinical Data Managers (CDM) will increase their value on the job market by building and expanding their SAS knowledge.

The TechTrainings were created by Clinovo in 2012 to help professionals upgrade their technical skill sets and match employers’ expectations in the clinical trial industry. The various programs available give students the opportunity to practice with real-life pharmaceutical and biotech companies case studies and learn from instructors with more than 10 years of industry experience.
