CIGNA Names Ted Detrick As Head Of Investor Relations And Maureen Breakiron-Evans As General Auditor

PHILADELPHIA, Feb. 25, 2005 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CIGNA Corporation today named Edwin J. "Ted" Detrick vice president of Investor Relations, effective immediately. Detrick led Investor Relations from 1998 to 2001 before moving to the role of General Auditor where he played a major part in supporting CIGNA's compliance with various aspects of Sarbanes-Oxley legislation.

Succeeding Detrick as General Auditor will be Maureen Breakiron-Evans, who most recently served as chief financial officer of Inovant, the technology subsidiary of Visa. Breakiron-Evans holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a bachelor's degree in business from Stetson University.

Since joining CIGNA in 1990, Detrick has held a variety of financial roles within the company. Prior to joining CIGNA, he was an audit senior manager with PricewaterhouseCoopers. He is a graduate of LaSalle University and a CPA.

Timothy D. McGarrity, who has served as interim leader of CIGNA Investor Relations, will report to Detrick and will continue to play a vital role in Investor Relations and in CIGNA's broader financial organization.
