The competition resulted in sixty-six finalists, with three students in each team, competing in the final round held at Shanghai's East China University of Science and Technology from July 11 - 13 2005. The cup is a perfect platform for outstanding students majoring in Chemical Process Technology to showcase their competence and to develop their potentials.

Prior to the final round the finalists visited the Bayer Integrated Site at the Shanghai Chemical Industry Park. The students were able to explore the chemical park, including the production units being constructed by BTSS. This plant tour gave the students a much better understanding of BTSS and Bayer as a whole. One of the students mentioned: ''It is an inspiring experience. I'm impressed by the introduction about the company's development in China, their advanced technology, and especially the introduction about 'Grow with BTS'.'' This fascinating tour was a motivation to all the students and encouraged them to aspire to a higher level of learning and to pursue a successful future.
