Biotech To Beat The Summer Blahs

Despite typically slow summer, biotechs likely to perform well... Now that we have officially entered summer and had our July 4th fireworks, many expect slow going in the biotech sector, at least until Labor Day. Summer is slow season in the pharmaceutical industry, and the stock market in general. Indeed, many pharmas have "summer hours" and some allow long term employees to take extended sabbaticals. The always busy meeting and conference calendar shows a big gap in July and August and few new announcements are made during summer. But, even with the slowdown, there is much to recommend biotech investment this summer.
