Antares Pharma, Inc. Announces First Patients Enrolled In QuickShot Testosterone Supplemental Safety Study

EWING, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Antares Pharma, Inc. (NASDAQ: ATRS) today announced that the first patients have been enrolled in a double-blind, multiple-dose, 26-week safety and pharmacokinetic study of QuickShot® Testosterone (QS T) administered subcutaneously once each week to adult males with hypogonadism. The study will include a screening phase, a treatment titration phase and a treatment phase for evaluation of safety and tolerability assessments, including laboratory assessments, adverse events and injection site assessments.

“The Company has been working closely with the Food and Drug Administration and we believe that the protocol for the QuickShot testosterone supplemental phase three safety study is appropriately structured to support the filing of a new drug application, or NDA,” stated Eamonn P. Approximately 70 patients will be needed to complete collection of 26 weeks of safety data. Patients meeting all eligibility criteria will be assigned to receive 75 mg of QS T once weekly for six weeks. Adjustments to dose may be made at week seven based upon the week six Ctrough value. QS T will be provided to clinical sites at dosage strengths of 100 mg, 75 mg and 50 mg to be utilized in dose titration.
