San Jose, CA – July 9, 2009 In response to the growing needs of the research community for zebrafish specific antibodies, peptides and other products, AnaSpec has launched the exciting new Z-Fish? series of antibodies. Z-Fish? antibodies are raised strictly from peptide antigens derived from zebrafish protein sequences, i.e. 100% zebrafish sequence homology. Leveraging AnaSpec’s expertise in peptide technology, the antigens used in raising these antibodies include non-phosphorylated and phosphorylated peptides. Z-Fish? antibodies are provided in a 150 µl size, which is optimal for 15 mini gels.
Zebrafish has been used as a developmental model in elucidating the role of MMPs during embryogenesis/development. Zhang, J. et al. isolated and characterized zMMP-2 (which shows >80% identity and >90% similarity to its human counterpart);1 Yoong, et al, zMMP-9; 2 and Hildegass, JM. et al. zMMP-13 (52% identity with human or mouse);3 among others. AnaSpec is pleased to introduce a line of Z-Fish? antibodies for MMP-2, 9, 11, 13, 14, 17 and 24. These antibodies were raised from sequences derived from the hinge region, internal or C-terminal sequence. They have been verified in ELISA and western blots using zebrafish lysates (see western blots below).
