BRIDGEWATER, N.J., April 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Alpharma Inc. , a leading global specialty pharmaceutical company, announced today that Jeffrey S. Campbell has been appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Campbell has served as interim Chief Financial Officer of Alpharma since September 2006.

Mr. Campbell joined Alpharma as Vice President and Controller in October 2002, was named Vice President Finance in April 2005, and has served as interim Chief Financial Officer since September 2006. Prior to joining Alpharma, Mr. Campbell served as Assistant Corporate Controller of Ingersoll- Rand Company Limited, a major diversified industrial enterprise, where he held several key financial management positions from 1987 to 2002. Mr. Campbell began his career in 1980 at Price Waterhouse LLP, where he served as Audit Manager.
Mr. Campbell, a certified public accountant, holds a BA degree in economics from Rutgers College and an MBA from Rutgers Graduate School of Management.
