A False Claims Act lawsuit unsealed this week accuses aesthetics devices maker Allergan of handing out kickbacks to get doctors to prescribe the company’s eye drugs. A pair of Philadelphia ophthalmologists accused medtech company Allergan (NYSE:AGN) of offering doctors illegal kickbacks in exchange for prescriptions of the Allergan’s eye drugs. The docs claimed that Allergan explicitly offered to trade prescriptions for consulting services that promised to boost clinic profits and help target patients with “dry eye,” according to Corporate Crime Reporter.
