AdvaMed Taps Michigan Biosciences Organization - MichBio’s Rapundalo to Chair State Medical Technology Alliance

The Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed) has named Stephen Rapundalo, Ph.D., president and CEO of MichBio, chair of its State Medical Technology Alliance.

The mission of the alliance, a national network of associations representing medical device manufacturers affiliated with AdvaMed, is to collectively support the industry by fostering a collaborative environment through sharing of best practices and advocating for public policies that support innovation. MichBio is Michigan’s statewide biosciences trade association.

“As we work with legislators in Congress and in state capitals, it’s critical that we speak with a common voice to reinforce AdvaMed’s advocacy on priority issues affecting the medical technology industry,” said Rapundalo, whose appointment was announced last week during AdvaMed’s annual conference in Washington, D.C. “I look forward to continuing the good work of my predecessors, Heather Erickson of MedTech and Joe Panetta of BIOCOM, and hope the next year is one of many accomplishments.”
