A New Venture Fund: Baird’s Got $185 Million To Play With

Baird Capital has raised its fourth venture fund, lining up commitments for $185 million.

The Chicago-based fund topped its original goal of $150 million, partner Benedict Rocchio said.

Baird raised $171 million in 2008 for its previous fund, which invested in Sittercity, Signal (formerly known as BrightTag) and Edo Interactive. Baird Capital is the venture arm of Milwaukee-based investment fund R.W. Baird & Co. Its first fund, in 2003, was $30 million.
