BioCapital campaign highlights region’s life sciences community.
DENVER (May 1, 2014) – Today BioSpace, the leading life sciences employment and news website, launched the 2014-2015 BioCapital Hotbed map campaign spotlighting the life sciences community in Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C.
In addition to being a global hub for commerce, government and education, the BioCapital region represents a key corridor for activity in the life sciences. The area continues to be a leader in biotech and pharmaceutical employment with the number of job openings posted to BioSpace increasing 29% from 2012 to 2013. The BioCapital region now accounts for 10 percent of all job openings on BioSpace, a strong indicator of the area’s recruiting energy.
“The BioCapital map offers a compelling portrait of the area’s thriving life sciences community featuring the ‘Who’s Who’ of the bioscience and pharmaceutical industry,” said Emily Chereck, BioSpace product manager. “We’re confident this year’s campaign will continue the legacy of connecting highly qualified investors and professionals with the outstanding life sciences companies in the area.”
This year’s participants include Leidos Biomedical Research, Inc., AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals, OriGene Technologies, Inc., Strategic Diagnostics Inc. and Technical Resources International Inc.
