University of Rochester Doing World’s First Trial of Pill Targeting Lymphoma

(July 18, 2007) — Patients at the University of Rochester’s James P. Wilmot Cancer Center are the first in the world to get a new drug that might be their last chance at battling lymphoma. UR is involved in a clinical trial of the pill R788, a medication that is meant to inhibit the growth of a certain protein found in non-Hodgkin’s B-cell lymphoma, a blood cancer.
