TripleCare announced today the expansion of its relationship with Ocean Healthcare Network, a network of family owned and operated New Jersey-based healthcare centers.
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- TripleCare, a national provider of telemedicine-based healthcare to the post-acute care sector, including skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), announced today the expansion of its relationship with Ocean Healthcare Network, a network of family owned and operated New Jersey-based healthcare centers. To this end, TripleCare is launching services at Atlantic Coast Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Lakewood, N.J., a 160-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitative care center within the Ocean Healthcare system.
The introduction of Triple Care’s virtual healthcare services at Atlantic Coast Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center marks the fourth Ocean Healthcare utilizing TripleCare’s physician-based telemedicine services. Earlier this year, services were introduced at three other Ocean Healthcare facilities in N.J., including: South Mountain Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, in Vauxhall, NJ; Park Crescent Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in East Orange and Hampton Ridge Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Toms River.
The telemedicine services offered by TripleCare are available during times when Atlantic Coast Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center’s physicians are not on site, such as overnight, during the weekends and on holidays. This is typically when many hospital transfers occur. During these times, TripleCare’s network of highly trained physicians perform virtual bedside visits, treating patients in place, using advanced technology, coupled with assistance from the facility’s experienced, on-site nurses. Triple Care’s virtual services make it possible for its physicians to differentiate between those patients who can be treated in place at the local facilities versus ones requiring a hospital transfer.
“Based on our rollouts earlier this year across several Ocean Healthcare facilities, and the results we are seeing to date, Ocean Healthcare is expanding services to other facilities within the network. We are seeing notable improvements in Treat in Place rates as well as lower Return to Hospital incidences. These shifts are positively impacting the level of patient care and satisfaction Ocean Healthcare delivers, and we are pleased to expand our relationship with the team and facilities,” noted TripleCare Chief Executive Officer Dr. Mary Jo Gorman.
Joseph Kiernan, Ocean Healthcare’s chief strategy officer and senior vice president, network development, stated: “With Triple Care’s extended coverage kicking in during our facility’s off hours, we can ensure we are providing patients around-the-clock care and are well-positioned to respond to their change in conditions. The telemedicine services are helping to keep our patients on site, allowing us to treat them in place while making it more comfortable and less stressful for them and their families. With TripleCare, we are glad to be realizing reductions in unnecessary patient hospitalizations and improve patient outcomes.”
