ALHAMBRA, Calif., July 27 /PRNewswire/ -- AHMC Inc. today announced a transition team to prepare for the transfer of ownership of four hospitals from Tenet Healthcare to AHMC Inc. The hospitals include Garfield Medical Center and Monterey Park Hospital in Monterey Park, Greater El Monte Community Hospital in South El Monte and Whittier Hospital Medical Center in Whittier. The definitive agreement was announced on Monday, July 19.

Together, the transition team will also oversee AHMC Inc.'s commitment to the following:
* Continue to operate the four facilities as acute care hospitals, including the 24 hour emergency rooms. * To retain all employees in good standing at the hospital. * Honor any labor agreements previously entered into by Tenet Healthcare * Continue the hospitals’ existing charity care policies and honor the promises of Tenet’s Compact with the Uninsured. * Maintain continuity of management by retaining the existing management teams at each hospital. * Honor the service of the existing hospital governing board members. * Establish ongoing, constructive dialogue with hospital staff and physicians to meet their needs and concerns. * Establish ongoing, constructive dialogue with community leaders and elected officials concerning healthcare issues in the community.
