Singapore-based biotechnology firms are still two to three years away from coming out with their first products for clinical trial. The Economic Development Board’s biomedical sciences director Beh Swan Jin said this at the opening of the ES Cell International’s research and development facility in the Biopolis science park on Thursday.ES Cell has Alan Coleman of “Dolly the Sheep” fame as its chief scientific officer.The company hopes to begin clinical trials of its stem cell products by the end of 2006.
