Purdue Pharma Manufacturing LP said Wednesday it will build a new plant in Durham, creating 100 jobs and spending $59 million on capital investments over three years. Purdue is involved in research, development, production and marketing of prescription and over-the-counter medicines and health-care products. The plant represents the second major investment Purdue has made in North Carolina. In 2000, Purdue opened a plant in Wilson, creating 180 engineering, scientific and technical jobs.
