{1} Announces Industry’s Most Compact Arista Slice Protein Purification System With Integrated Fraction Collector
Biotech tools company first to market complete browser-controlled protein purification system
Raleigh, NC – July 7, 2016 – Practichem, the Raleigh-based maker of biotech tools, today announced Arista™ Slice with integrated fraction collection. This 22 cm (8 in.) wide complete protein purification system is the most compact available. Arista Slice may be a protein biochemist’s best defense against shrinking lab space and evaporating budgets.
“To achieve our design and price goals, much of Arista is completely new thinking,” commented Nick DeMarco, Practichem’s founder and CEO. “We challenged the conventional approach. Protein scientists asked for a powerful and friendly tool that is also compact and affordable. We improved Arista Slice with an all new integrated collector, and we hit our targets.”
By integrating recently developed technologies, Practichem reduced the cost of Arista Slice while making it very small. This saves capital and bench space. The small size also improves peak resolution by reducing system dead volume.
Arista Slice offers three key advantages:
Very small: At 22 cm (8 in.) wide, Arista Slice takes ¼ the space of the conventional systems, opening crowded lab benches.
Affordable: Inclusion of creative thinking and new technologies reduce system cost by almost ½ from comparably featured systems it replaces.
Accessible: Researchers can access and operate Arista Slice from any device using only the Chrome browser on Macs, PCs, and tablets.
Practichem’s goal is to demystify complex biotech research processes. Arista Slice simplifies protein purification, and its affordable price opens research avenues for many creative minds to speed development of cures for world’s most challenging diseases.
About Practichem
Biotech instrumentation company Practichem advances research by developing straightforward, friendly, and real research tools. Their flagship, Arista Slice, efficiently purifies proteins using chromatographic techniques in one-quarter the space and at one-half the cost -- and includes the industry’s first browser enabled interface. Practichem, headquartered in Raleigh, NC, has offices in Madison, WI and Oxford, UK. Practichem recently completed a $5 million private funding round.
