NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 9, 2005--Pay-for-Performance is becoming one of the most hotly debated topics among America’s practicing physicians, health plans, policy makers and leading physician organizations. In an effort to provide a physician voice in the debate, Johns Hopkins and American Healthways convened a Summit last fall of more than 200 practicing physicians from around the country to get their perspective on what an effective pay-for-performance program should include. The results of the Summit were released today in a consensus report titled, Outcomes-Based Compensation: Pay-for-Performance Design Principles.
