PITTSBURGH, Feb. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Mylan Inc. today announced that its Greensboro, N.C., distribution facility has received Verified-Accredited Wholesale Distributors(R) (VAWD) accreditation from the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy(R) (NABP). The NABP established the VAWD program in 2004 to help protect the public from the threat of counterfeit drugs affecting the U.S. drug supply.
According to IMS Health data, one out of every 12 prescriptions dispensed in the U.S. - branded or generic - is a Mylan product, and most of these are distributed by the company's Greensboro facility.
