PAMPLONA, Spain, May. 14 (UPI) -- Spanish researchers have discovered a molecule that is useful in diagnosing hypertensive cardiopathy. The scientists from the Center for Applied Medical Research at the University of Navarra determined cardiotrophin 1 -- a molecule that can be measured in blood -- can be used as a diagnostic marker for hypertensive cardiopathy and is also useful for preventing or controlling the damaging effects on the heart suffered by patients with the disease. >>> Discuss This Story
