EDMONTON, Alberta, Nov. 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Medical Services International Inc. is pleased to announce that it has entered into a joint venture with a Chinese firm and a hospital located in northern China, whereby the Chinese firm and the hospital will act as joint distributors of the VScan products in northern China. The hospital will use the VScan products exclusively whenever possible. The hospital will also conduct any testing required in order to get any approvals required with regulatory agencies. By having the hospital conduct any testing required it will reduce the time that it normally takes to arrange testing as we will have access to an established patient base as well as modern laboratories to conduct the testing.
All previous contracts in China have been with provinces and hospitals in southern China. This is Medical Services’ first entrance into northern China. It is reasonable to expect that the Joint Venture will arrange significant contracts in Northern China that are comparable with the contracts in southern China. The southern China contracts are expected to generate in excess of $25 million US over three years.
