April 2-3 event features speakers from Vanderbilt University, regional health care facilities

SCHAUMBURG, Ill., March 2, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Emergency health care experts from Vanderbilt University and Vanderbilt University Medical Center will be a focal point of the education offered by the Emergency Nurses Association at its Spring Regional Symposium in Nashville on April 2-3 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center.

Featured speakers include Vanderbilt University Associate Professor Dr. Jin Han presenting “Five Simple Steps to Becoming a Delirium Master,” while Kevin High, Elizabeth Owen and Kyle Luckey-Smith from Vanderbilt University Medical Center are scheduled to speak on clinical issues in the emergency department.

“Our Regional Symposium Series is rooted in the idea of putting the spotlight on local experts in emergency care and clinical skill development,” said ENA President Mike Hastings, MSN, RN, CEN. “Attendees in Nashville can expect a great educational experience provided by a talented lineup of speakers, including the hometown presenters from Vanderbilt.”

The symposium’s first day includes ENA Board Member Terry Foster’s fun and nostalgic look at emergency nursing through the years, as well as a panel featuring local emergency care providers discussing disaster preparation, response and the lessons learned from regional incidents. Nevada ENA State Council President Dustin Bass closes out the symposium on a high note as he encourages attendees to “Amplify their Awesomeness” when providing high-quality patient care.

Established in 2018, ENA’s Regional Symposium Series of educational and networking events brings high-quality ENA programming to members and non-members on the local level. In just two years, hundreds of emergency nurses have traveled to Las Vegas, Orlando, Seattle and Milwaukee for the opportunity to participate in regionalized learning opportunities.
