Baltimore Business Journal by Scott Graham, Managing Editor
Yesterday I came upon a growing Baltimore-area company I had never heard of — and it’s hiring.
IZI Medical Products .IZI Medical Products Latest from The Business Journals IZI Medical Products acquired by Landauer for MFueling up Follow this company .of Owings Mills made headlines on this publication’s website after we learned the medical device manufacturer was sold for $93 million to Illinois-based Landauer. IZI’s previous owner, private equity firm Riverside Partners of Boston, unloaded the company in an all-cash deal.
For IZI, not much is expected to change, said CEO Helen Shafer, whose parents started the small business in 1991. The management team will remain intact, and no layoffs are expected.
In fact, the company, which generated revenue of $18.5 million last year, wants to hire another five or six people to help its sales and administrative departments, Shafer said.
IZI sells the products it makes — basically, diagnostic markers used in MRI and CT scans and X-rays — and Shafer has worked for the past 15 years to build a lucrative sales and distribution network as the company has developed new devices.
“We’ve been aggressive with product development, so we need more help” in sales, Shafer said.
The pay is attractive. The average salary for the sales positions is between $75,000 and $90,000 a year, while the administrative positions pay $40,000 to $60,000 annually, she said.
Anyone interested in applying for one of IZI’s positions should contact Chantal Pereira, the company’s HR manager. IZI’s phone number is 410-594-9403. Click here to link to its website.
