BRUSSELS, April 5 (Reuters) - The European Commission approved on Wednesday 13 million euros ($15.8 million) of state aid to Ireland’s Abbott Vascular Devices, a subsidiary of U.S. medical device maker Abbott (ABT.N: Quote, Profile, Research). The EU executive said a project being undertaken by Abbot Vascular, which will work on products to treat coronary vascular disease, can get legitimate state aid as it meets all the requirements for research and development funding.
