January 10, 2007 -- The JPMorgan meeting is well-attended, producing lots of activity, and some presentations are jammed with standing room only. The excitement level is back up after the post-2000 decline, though still lower than the frenzy of the late 90s. The presentation from Boston Scientific was totally packed. The company is in a very strong position, but they have to face ongoing quality issues, a problem they addressed. The presentation from Lundbeck A/S was impressive though they lack a US sales force. People who saw Biogen-Idec gave it a good report, and Applera is making the transition into pharma with great success. More...
