PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Christian Scheiner, 42, has been named Chief Marketing Officer of Vita34 International AG, Europe's leading umbilical cord blood stem cell bank. Mr. Scheiner's November 1, 2004 appointment enhances the management board of the newly formed international company. Scheiner's initial focus will be to expand the market position of the US subsidiary CorCell, Inc.

Before joining Vita34, Scheiner built the US distribution of Stada AG, which he managed to profitability within two years. Prior to that, Scheiner held several positions in the pharmaceutical-manufacturing company Boehringer Ingelheim in Germany and North America. As Director of Acquisitions & Alliances, he executed strategic alliances and takeovers and supervised the integration of the new companies into the corporate environment.
