Bayer isn’t the only one hiring, others are hiring too! Check it out! (Isn’t it tempting?) WHATELY — Thermoplastic film company Bayer MaterialScience is moving forward on expansion plans for its Whately factory.
On Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Whately Town Hall, the Planning Board will hold a public hearing on Bayer’s proposal for its 8 Fairview Way facility. The addition would be approximately 94,485 square feet — to accommodate additional employees and production lines.
The company’s expansion plans have been somewhat controversial. Earlier this year, Bayer went before the Deerfield Selectmen to ask to hook up to the town sewer. The request was part of the planned expansion that the company previously said will bring 18 to 20 new jobs and $1 million in salaries to the area.
