SALT LAKE CITY, Jan. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- ZARS Pharma announces the appointment of Robert Lippert as President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Lippert succeeds Larry Rigby, a founder of the Company, who has served as CEO since inception in 1996. Mr. Rigby will step out of day-to-day management and become Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors. Mr. Rigby intends to remain deeply involved in the Company’s business and strategic direction as a member of the Board of Directors.
Mr. Lippert joined the Company in January 2004 and has been serving as the Company’s President and Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Lippert brings to ZARS more than 25 years of diversified experience from within the health care/pharmaceutical industry.
Prior to joining ZARS, Mr. Lippert served as President and CEO of ProCertus BioPharm, Inc., a pharmaceutical company focused on the development of proprietary oncology products. Previously, Mr. Lippert was employed at Exponential Biotherapies, Inc. as Senior Vice President, Medeva Pharmaceuticals (Celltech) as Senior Vice President, Marketing and Business Development, and various middle management positions at Ohmeda (Baxter). Mr. Lippert has a proven track record of building business operations, directing corporate and business development efforts, and developing winning sales and marketing teams. Mr. Lippert holds an M.B.A. from Marquette University as well as undergraduate degrees from the University of Wisconsin.
