SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Fluidigm has announced that the TOPAZ system has been used to determine the structure of Munc18c complexed with syntaxin4, a soluble NSF attachment protein receptor (SNARE) binding partner. The structure provides new insight into a novel regulatory mechanism controlling the targeting and fusion of vesicles to membranes. Vesicle-membrane fusion is fundamental to the function of eukaryotic cells and plays a critical role in diverse cellular processes, including protein secretion and synaptic transmission.
