SOLX Introduces DeepLight Glaucoma Treatment System; First Combination Laser And Photo-Titratable Gold Micro-Shunt Therapy In Development At Boston University Photonics Center

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 11, 2005--SOLX, Inc. will share its vision of a new glaucoma treatment system at this week's American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) annual symposium at the Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. The DeepLight(R) Glaucoma Treatment System is the first of its kind to combine a Titanium Sapphire 790 nm laser with a photo-titratable gold micro-shunt to provide physicians the widest range of intraocular pressure (IOP) reduction options possible. Preliminary results of ongoing DeepLight Glaucoma Treatment System studies will be presented during the New Glaucoma Surgery Symposium at ASCRS Glaucoma Day on Friday, April 15, 2005. Two independent pilot studies were recently presented to 1200 attendees at the International Glaucoma Society (IGS) meeting in Cape Town, South Africa, on April 2, 2005.
