SILVER SPRING, Md., Oct. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- SoftMed Systems, a leading provider of healthcare information solutions, today announced the latest offering in the evolution of its web transcription products. ChartScript.Net is a complete browser-based transcription solution enabling organizations to leverage labor pools while continuing to take advantage of all the benefits of SoftMed’s ChartScript(R). The enhanced functionality allows healthcare facilities to efficiently manage their transcription workflow by routing jobs to remote-based or outsourced transcription services. In addition, the web- based system’s ease of use minimizes support, training and infrastructure needed to deploy the program on a small or large scale.
The system maintains the same features as SoftMed’s ChartScript product, named 2003 “Best in KLAS” in the Dictation and Transcription category. However, typing actually takes place in a browser application that integrates seamlessly with ChartScript. The program includes the same production tools, including text inserts, abbreviation expansions and spell-check.
“With ChartScript.Net, SoftMed has taken the award-winning functionality of the original solution and made it even more accessible,” said Don Segal, CEO of SoftMed Systems. “This is another example of our commitment to developing solutions that leverage technologies to reduce costs, improve operational efficiencies and data accuracy for patient care documentation.”
ChartScript.Net also includes an “autosave” feature that enables users to pick up where they left off in case of a connection interruption. This technology can be deployed easily in a single facility or multiple-facility system, enabling large integrated networks with disparate patient data to leverage a single workforce. In addition, the solution preserves the integrity of the data and maintains the distribution capabilities of ChartScript at the local level, such as remote printing, faxing, emailing and document upload.
ChartScript.Net uses the same broadband connection to fully integrate with SoftMed’s VoiceScript dictation system and ChartLinc, an interface for real time upload and download of patient data. This allows users to easily access dictation, while reducing costs, improving productivity and increasing document accuracy.
“Our transcriptionists have readily accepted ChartScript.Net because it is familiar, yet flexible, which allows them to increase productivity,” said Sandy Hirsch, VP and General Manager, National Transcription Services, Summa Health System. “Our Health Information department is excited about the prospect of rolling this program out on a wider scale and expanding the capabilities of our transcription team.”
