DENVER, Oct. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Policy Studies Inc. (PSI), a leading provider of outsourcing services, information technology, and consulting for government clients, recently was awarded a contract renewal with the Georgia Department of Community Health. PSI will continue to manage services provided under the PeachCare for Kids Program, the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) that provides healthcare benefits for Georgia's uninsured children who are unable to secure affordable healthcare in the private sector, but are ineligible for Medicaid.
The contract also involves enhancing and maintaining existing Web-based applications for both the PeachCare for Kids program and the State's Long Term Care program, the latter of which was designed for use by nursing home staff members. These state-of-the-art applications have helped streamline program operations and are extremely popular among the PeachCare families and nursing home employees using them.
PSI began managing Georgia's PeachCare for Kids program in April 2003, when the company acquired Dental Health Administrative and Consulting Services, Inc. (DHACS). DHACS is now a wholly owned subsidiary of PSI. Since that time, PSI/DHACS has provided outstanding administration of the PeachCare program, posted an exceptional record of responsiveness, and provided a continuous, high level of service.
Dave Ashby, Senior Vice President at PSI, noted, "As the incumbent vendor, we've already proven that we have the management capabilities and program knowledge to not only meet -- but exceed -- Georgia's contract requirements. We're excited to have the opportunity to uphold the standard of excellence we've established for the PeachCare program."
PSI/DHACS, which also provides administrative services to support Medicaid and SCHIP programs in Colorado, Florida, and Missouri, is planning a number of new initiatives to further elevate PeachCare for Kids services. These include an even faster application process facilitated by new imaging capabilities, enhancements to the telecommunications system to maximize the quality of customer service, and securing new facilities that will improve client access while reducing program costs.
