ATLANTA, Oct. 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- NDCHealth Corporation today announced the general market release of NDCLytec(R) 2005, an upgrade to its market-leading physician practice management system. The enhanced NDCLytec version enables the small office practitioner to optimize billing and collection efforts, as well as meet the health information security standards as part of the 1996 Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
“NDCLytec currently provides vital automation to practitioners across North America, helping them to better manage their office and improve cash flow,” said Walter Hoff, chairman and CEO, NDCHealth. “The HIPAA Security Regulations, which go into effect April 2005, bring a number of unique challenges to the small office practitioner, encompassing both data security and storage & retrieval. The enhanced security options in NDCLytec 2005 directly address those challenges. Coupled with several enhanced features that bring office management to a higher level of automation, NDCLytec 2005 illustrates our ongoing commitment to provide physicians practical technology solutions at an affordable price point.”
The NDCLytec 2005 HIPAA security features include audit logs and both user and database security protocols, all of which support protecting electronic health records from unauthorized access. The upgrade also delivers Electronic Remittance Advise (ERA), which automatically posts payer payment information into the NDCLytec 2005 accounts receivable system, eliminating the time- consuming need to keystroke individual payment entries and reducing chance of entry errors. In addition, an integrated collections module significantly enhances collections processes by keeping practices informed of both insurance and patient past due balances, while providing a single focal point to facilitate the entire collection process.
NDCHealth has received favorable reaction to the new features included in NDCLytec 2005 since unveiling beta copies of the software several weeks ago to its customers and to third-party selling partners known as value-added resellers (VARs).
“Customer feedback regarding NDCLytec 2005 has been overwhelmingly positive,” said Willie Dabbs, president and chief executive officer, Dabbs Computer Consultants, LLC of Nashville, Tenn. “In particular, the new integrated collections module offers our customers tremendous time savings and can dramatically accelerate their cash flow as it helps them more effectively manage their outstanding receivables.”
