SINGAPORE, Feb. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- NephroAsia 2004, Asia’s premier nephrology congress, will host over 2000 renal professionals from 80 nations from 9th to 12th February 2004, at the Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Center. Distinguished recipient of the 2002 Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine, Dr Sydney Brenner, will present the topic “Molecular Medicine in the New Millenium” during the Nobel Plenary Lecture at the NephroAsia 2004 Opening Gala Dinner Ceremony.
A highly sought-after speaker, Dr Brenner’s award-winning research showed that the growth and the programmed death of hundreds of cells in the developing microscopic nematode worm, was a key to unlocking the mysteries of the same processes in the multi-trillion celled human body.
Held over four days, NephroAsia 2004 will engage participants in an intensive forum for scientific dialogue and provide updates on the breakthrough advances in nephrology. As renal professionals throughout the world endeavour to develop newer and more effective life-saving treatment options, the National Kidney Foundation Singapore (NKFS), is privileged to play our part and contribute to this effort through this international forum to address such challenges.
Besides the line-up of acclaimed speakers, an exhibition with country pavilions showcasing technological advances from Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, India, China and Japan will attempt to interest the international participants with their products.
A pre-congress workshop will begin from 8.30am on the first day (9 February 2004, Monday), followed by a gala dinner, during which Dr Brenner will present his lecture.
