Midwest Medical Enterprises Introduces Innovative Medical Device

ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwired - October 07, 2014) -

Midwest Medical Enterprises (MME), a medical device company headquartered in Atlanta, has announced a new division, DVTlite, as the exclusive U.S. provider of the revolutionary mobile compression device, the Venowave.

The introduction of this new division follows Midwest Medical’s strategy to better position the company within the DVT prevention market by bringing mobile solutions into the changing landscape of healthcare. With plans to expand their market share firmly into home care, the company feels that adding a new division for its Venowave product will strengthen its brand, specifically to the growing home care industry.

“The impact of DVT in the U.S. alone is staggering,” said CEO and President of Midwest Medical Enterprises, Richard Parker. “More people lose their lives from DVT complications annually than breast cancer, HIV, AIDS and road traffic accidents combined. It is apparent that we need to do more in the area of preventative care.”

Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clot that forms in a deep vein, typically in the legs, and can cause pain, or worse, break off into the blood stream and travel to the main artery of the lung resulting in pulmonary embolism (PE). It affects over 2 million Americans annually, resulting in an estimated 300,000 fatalities each year.

With over 25 years experience in medical device sales and supply, Richard has witnessed the evolution of medical device technology in healthcare and the lack of awareness surrounding DVT. As a result, Midwest Medical Enterprises has partnered with Saringer Life Science Technologies to supply the newest DVT prevention technology, Venowave, to the U.S. market. John Saringer of Saringer Life Science Technologies co-developed this revolutionary device with world-renowned haematologist, Dr. Jack Hirsch, focusing on the product’s efficacy and patient compliance.

“When we created our DVTlite division, our focus was to target prevention at home, because a lot of DVT complications occur once the patient is discharged from the healthcare facility. What’s great about the Venowave is its mobility. The technology is ground breaking. It’s the first FDA approved device of its kind and numerous studies have been conducted to support its effectiveness. It has the potential to save many lives and change the lives of those suffering with chronic vascular conditions.”

DVTlite will supply Venowave to patients as well as physicians, institutions and medical suppliers. Their goal is to penetrate all levels of healthcare with Venowave’s mobile capabilities, ensuring that patients can better manage their health regardless of their location.

“When you look at the healthcare industry over the past several years, policy changes are starting to push the patient more rapidly away from hospital stays to outpatient facilities and into the home. Our technology has allowed us to bridge the gap in these transitions and make sure patient care is not being sacrificed along the way.”
