TUSTIN, Calif., March 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Merlyn Associates, Inc., has announced the introduction of four additional products to their innovative EndoFlex line, which features endotracheal tubes with a patented adjustable distal tip.
New products will include an uncuffed (pediatric) version of the standard EndoFlex oral/nasal tracheal tube, and both cuffed and uncuffed EndoFlex preformed, oral tracheal tubes. For the most difficult airways, cuffed EndoFlex oral/nasal tubes will be offered in select sizes with a pre-loaded, rigid stylet.
EndoFlex is a standard endotracheal tube that enables the practitioner to make instant critical adjustments if a difficult airway situation is encountered. It was introduced worldwide in late 2004. Medline Industries, Merlyn’s USA distributor, will launch EndoFlex nationwide in April 2005.
All of the EndoFlex line extension products will be available by October 2005, in conjunction with the American Society of Anesthesiology conference in New Orleans.
“Merlyn’s goal is to offer physicians and other practitioners a single source for the most innovative, easiest to use, and safest airway management devices at remarkably competitive prices,” says Jay Kotin, president of Merlyn Associates. “When we combine this new line of EndoFlex flexible tracheal tubes with a new line of laryngeal masks and several other inventive airway products that we will introduce later this year, we believe that we will have accomplished this goal.”
