Mark Ganz Appointed To Board Of Directors Of The Regence Group

PORTLAND, Ore., Sept. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- The Regence Group has appointed Mark Ganz to the company’s board of directors. He will also add the title of Chief Executive Officer to his current title of President, a position he has held at The Regence Group since 2003. The changes are effective immediately.

Ganz joined The Regence Group in 1996 as a Senior Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary. He also served as Chief Compliance Officer and was responsible for legislative and regulatory relations. In 2001 he was appointed President of Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon and was made President of The Regence Group two years later.

Before moving to Portland, he was General Counsel for Pierce County Medical Blue Shield in Tacoma, Washington, one of the initial insurers involved in The Regence Group affiliation. Prior to joining Pierce County Medical in 1992, Ganz practiced law in Seattle with the firm of Karr Tuttle Campbell.

He earned both his undergraduate and law degrees from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. He is a member of the national policy advisory board for the American Association of Health Plans. He also serves on the Mayor’s Roundtable for the City of Portland and on the Board of Regents for the University of Portland.
