Kodak and Viatronix, Inc. recently announced the successful integration of VIATRONIX V3D-Colon software into Kodak's PACS (picture archiving and communications system) to enable healthcare professionals to automatically process CT images into three-dimensional (3D) models for rapid viewing, diagnosis and report generation.
V3D-Colon software offers a unique virtual colonoscopy workflow: images of the patient's abdomen and pelvis area are taken using a CT scan while the colon is inflated, and then a three dimensional (3D) model is automatically generated. The physician can then sit at a KODAK DIRECTVIEW diagnostic workstation and interactively examine the colon for polyps and lesions by virtually navigating through a dynamic 3D representation that is similar to what is seen in a traditional optical exam.
