PASADENA, Calif., March 28 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. announced today that a subsidiary company has been awarded a contract to provide engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning services at Pfizer Limited’s site at Sandwich in Kent, England. Pfizer manufactures bulk chemical active pharmaceutical ingredients at this major site.
Officials did not disclose contract details.
The project involves design and construction of a thermal oxidizer unit (TOU) to collect and pretreat vent emissions from five production areas. Jacobs completed the front-end engineering design for the TOU project in December 2005. Once the project is completed in early 2007, Pfizer’s Sandwich site will comply fully with the U.K.'s Solvent Emissions Directive and Pollution Prevention Control legislation.
Jacobs will execute the work from offices in Reading, England, with support from staff at the Sandwich site and in Cork, Ireland.
