NEW YORK, Oct. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Group Health Incorporated (GHI) CEO and President, Frank J. Branchini, announced today the appointment of Donna Lynne as President of GHI HMO Select Inc (GHI HMO), a subsidiary of GHI. Ms. Lynne will also continue in her role as Executive Vice President of GHI, a statewide not-for-profit health plan that provides health care services for more than 2.5 million individuals.
Purchased by GHI in 1999, GHI HMO serves 28 counties in New York State, with membership of 60,000, and a provider network of 16,000. GHI HMO also recently was awarded “Excellent” accreditation -- the highest possible rating -- as the result of an evaluation conducted by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), a national independent organization that measures the quality of America’s health care.
Ms. Lynne’s appointment comes at a time when GHI is expanding its efforts to serve New York State’s uninsured population by including GHI HMO as an option offered through government-sponsored insurance programs. “I believe that this change underscores GHI’s commitment to incorporating the HMO as both an integral part of our portfolio of products, and as GHI’s mechanism to participate in public programs,” stated Mr. Branchini. “Under Ms. Lynne’s stewardship, I’m confident that GHI HMO will continue to grow, and to help GHI fulfill its goal of serving all New Yorkers.”
Ms. Lynne has served as GHI’s Executive Vice President since 1998. Prior to this, Ms. Lynne held several senior management positions with the City of New York, including Senior Vice President at the Health and Hospitals Corporation, Director of the Mayor’s Office of Operations, and First Deputy Commissioner in the Mayor’s Office of Labor Relations.
